Handel – Saraband




To all violists who have played any of Handel’s great works, you will know that when the going gets tough the violas tend to drop out. But at least we have the pleasure of watching the violins wrestling with the notes. What does that say about the violists of Handel’s time, I wonder? However, here we have a very atmospheric and original piece; a passacaglia with variations. But what a scary hard first viola part – not for the faint-hearted. 7 mins. M/A
